On the El Peñol side of the reservoir, about 2.4 km from La Piedra and roughly 4.9 km from Guatapé town centre. It is deliberately set away from town, in hillside forest above the water.
Individual bungalows built into the hillside, spaced for privacy. The balconies are the selling point: most have a private jacuzzi and a fire pit facing the lake, which is what guests photograph most.
Effectively yes. Guests report the access road is in poor condition, and other food options are over twenty minutes away on foot, so you would be relying on a tuk-tuk or your own vehicle to leave.
There is, and room service too, which matters given how far the hotel sits from anywhere else. Reviews on the food are mixed, with the strongest complaints aimed at dinner relative to the price.
That is its main strength. Reviewers consistently describe forest, birdlife and lake views with very little noise. The trade-off named just as often is intermittent internet, so do not plan to work from here.
